Poly Loot Beginner Guide: Your First Hour

1. Take the sword and claim the free stuff

The first quest, First Steps, has you talk to Captain Mara and take the sword. A cutscene then shows King Chicken, the first boss, and tells you to “get stronger to save your friend”.

Before you fight anything else:

• Open Rewards (left side of the screen) → Social Rewards and redeem the four working codes. JUNGLE alone gives 15 Tier Scrolls.
• On the same tab, claim the boosts for joining the Poly Loot group, liking the game and favoriting it. In ItzVexo’s video those added up to 10% more Coins, and they are permanent.
• Claim playtime and daily rewards whenever the icon lights up. The store also had a free Coins reward in ItzVexo’s video.

2. Pick up every quest before you grind

Chink’s first tip is to collect all the quests in town before farming, because one kill can count for several quests at once. Captain Mara, Ser Aldric, the Mayor, Doctor Ten and a few others all hand out work early. The quests page has every objective we have seen.

3. Keep every drop

Weapons and armor fall on the ground as you kill mobs. Pick all of it up, even the bad ones:

• Equip anything better right away.
• Take the rest to the Crafting station and use Dismantle Mode. It turns gear into shards of the same rarity.
• Spend shards and Coins at the Upgrade station. One upgrade took a Common scythe from 32.5 to 35.8 damage.

4. Use Tier Scrolls on your main weapon

Every item has a tier from F- to Z+. At the Tiers station, a Weapon Tier Scroll rerolls your weapon’s tier, and a better tier means more damage (a +1 Basic Dagger went from 8.4 at F- to 11 at C). Roll the weapon you are using, not a spare. The tier list page shows all 21 tiers and the pity counters.

5. Pick Damage early

Every level you choose +1 Damage, +1 Health or +1 Defense. Most guide makers pick Damage first. Gravy Live went all Damage and still died to a pack of pigs, so mix in some Health or Defense once enemies start hitting hard. The stats guide goes deeper.

6. Level up, then take on King Chicken

Wall Watch sends you after Pigs and Wolves, and Wolves hit for 44-66, which is a lot at level 5. If a fight goes badly, kite: walk away while you attack. Dash is on Shift.

King Chicken throws eggs and hits hard. Gravy Live lost to it alone and won once a second player joined, so fight it when other players are around. 40.2% of players have the King Chicken badge.

7. Buy an XP Totem when you can

The Merchant sells an XP Totem for 1K Coins. Place it where mobs spawn and everyone in its aura earns +50% XP. The level-up guide has more ways to speed things up.

What comes next

After King Chicken, the cave opens up: mining for better pickaxes, Kate’s quests and the Spider boss. The Jungle needs level 80. See bosses for the order.
